New Delhi: CBI’s roller coaster ride, hardly seems to get over. With 20 transfers made already, including one of the interim director, M. Nageshwar Rao and resignation of CBI director Alok Verma, the officer probing into former ICICI CEO Chanda kochar’s case too faces the same fate. The Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu Dhar Mishra has been transferred to Ranchi, a day after FIR in the case against former ICICI CEO Ms. Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and MD of Videocon Group Mr. Venugopal Dhoot on January 22. And to Justify the same, the CBI blamed Mishra for keeping the enquiry pending in the preliminary stages, they said. And amidst all this broiling trust and credibility issues within CBI, it has been giving verdicts on cases as sensitive as BAba Ram Rahim. A verdict was recently pronounced for Baba Ram Rahim on the murder of slain journalist Chhatrapati. Has it really proved its credibility after a spate of controversies? With such unscrupulous actions, in the past 6-7 months.

Baba Ram Rahim is knocking the higher court against the verdict by CBI court. CBI has had the most respect in this nation, to deliver justice to all and sundry. But this image is changing fast and nobody but CBI officials are the ones ruining this. Or should we say, the system, using it to its advantage? CBI has been cited as the parrot in the hands of those in power by many and current instances prove the same with CBI officials openly saying the same, But this agency, continues to function, as fi noting happened giving verdict after verdict is definitely unacceptable. How can this caged parrot find its autonomy again or will it every find its autonomy, only time will tell. But this vital pillar of democracy needs to be safeguarded at the earliest.
